We only drank here but did enjoy the general feel of the place. We were quite happy for 2-3 hours just supping our beers and chilling.

Visited for a quick pint after a day on the slopes. Beer selection wasn't the best in town (no local beers). Food looked good, although we didn't eat. Stopped off here en route for evening meal and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of food. There was a variety of choices on the menu, the belly pork and haggis is particulary good :) the service was good and the prices comparitive to the surrounding areas. If in Aviemore it's worth paying a visit to the winking owl :)

We went on a golf outing to Spey Valley golf course and when we saw soup priced at £6 reverted to plan B. lunch at Winking Owl good food, good price and good staff. After waiting half an hour after being shown where to sit we left. Food was left out on tables - at least three. Staff could not be distinguished through lack of uniforms, all very unprofessional and unacceptable, ended up going o excellent cafe across the road.
