Visiting this on a rainy Saturday, having been a few times before was expecting good things. Probably one of the most irritating waitresses I have ever come across served us, very rude and unwilling to accommodate any slight flexibility of order. Will not be back.

Visited with family, service warm and friendly, food was really nice, freshly made to order. Cullen Skink delicious; croque monsieur yummy as were accompanying french fries. Desserts all delicious especially the chocolate tart. Great changing area for small children and good toys / books to keep them amused. Definitely recommend. Only thing would say is would be good to be... More

Staff are so friendly, food is amazing, try the Chickpea and sweet potatoe curry, it's so yummy. Very reasonably priced. Great for families :)

Our favourite restaurant in Edinburgh. Such mouth watering dishes cooked so delicately by the chef Mika, and his warm and friendly wife Anna serving them - it's like the couple open up their home for us. So casual and upbeat, this place is as easily recommended for a nice coffee, as for a good lunch. Our trips to Edinburgh wouldn't... More

Lovely cafe and excellent food. Friendly. A little lacking in atmosphere but made up for by quick efficient service. Well worth a visit

great if you are next door, but even then... This was a 2nd visit, and while everyone is very nice, and there are loads of happy regulars, the coffee was not quite hot or flavourful enough, and the breakfast menu a bit limited - I'd particularly like the chance to have just a smaller bacon-roll / black-pudding roll sort of... We had our Wedding Reception as a private function in the WOL Cafe. The freshly cooked food was fabulous, with the menu developed specifically for us to reflect our favourite dishes and people's food allergies, The service was brilliant - Anna looked after us so well - and everyone had such a wonderful time. The kids used the 'sofa corner'... More

Had Sunday lunch here. First impression: the staff were very friendly and the place had a lovely relaxed ambience about it with pictures for sale and papers to read. The cakes looked absolutely gorgeous. I wanted to order everything but in the end I settled for sticky toffee pudding preceded by Cullen Skink. Great!! Yum yum!

Visited the restaurant for a private dinner for my 50th birthday with 13 friends on a Saturday evening. Chose this venue based on Trip Advisor reviews and certainly wasn't disappointed. Food was excellent and service from Ana was outstanding. One of my friends is allergic to dairy and egg, so a menu was created to accommodate this, which she really... More
