Well worth a visit if in Newcastle. A little outside main town but definitely worth going to outskirts of Newcastle. It is located on edge of the road almost opposite the harbour. Excellent for breakfast. Food served is a good standard. Enjoyed their coffee and scones. Returned for lunch. Had celery & Stilton soup served with crusty bread. Delicious! Had... More

If you like something out of the ordinary, then you must try Olive Bizarre on the South Promenade in Newcastle. The brain child of a young local couple, this little treasure house is the perfect place to enjoy a few moments calm in the middle of your daily whirl. The external facade and interior decor border on the kitch, and... More

Friendly, quirky cafe! Have been here a few times and always enjoy the experience. Usually easy to park here too.

Good quality food and impeccable customer service . Popular and a little overcrowded but this quirky little place with its delicious soups, lustrous quiches n tempting cakes is a must stop for lunch. Font be deceived by the rather dreary frontage it's a little gem

You will love the eclectic decor and hand knitted quirky tea cozys in addition to the good service and the yummy treats. Lovely view over the Dundrum Bay and handy for a walk around Newcastle Harbour or the Granite Trail. Well worth a visit.

Olive Bizarre is a hidden gem, tucked away on the outskirts of newcastle, on the road to Kilkeel. Eclectic decor & trendy young staff abound but this place is not form over function. The food is great be it popping in for a delicious cappo & chocolate brownie or satisfying lunch. The staff too are pleasant and attentive. Seek it... More

I first went to the Olive Bizarre with a friend who recommended it and I could not believe I had never known about it as Newcastle is one of my favourite places. It is so quirky and fun, the decor is really funky and the staff are so pleasant. Food is really tasty and I have been there almost every... More

I frequently visit Newcastle at the weekends, whilst I thoroughly enjoy the beautiful promenade walk I craved to find somewhere to get a nice breakfast/brunch after. I have tried most of the restaurants in newcastle, some of which are average and some of which are basically terrible. I was absolutely delighted when I came across Olive Bizarre as we ventured... Liked the food, staff friendly, music a pleasant change from the usual pop fodder. Main complaint is the DIRT of the furnishings. Hubby and I sat on two armchairs that were filthy and I'm not exaggerating. I pulled mine in and then thought how lucky I was that I wasn't eating anything (like a scone) that required handling by hand... More

We chanced upon this place on a day trip to Newcastle. It is a pretty, olde world style tea room / cafe, staff were friendly. We didn't want a main meal so just ordered coffee and a sausage roll each, the sausage rolls were very nice and came on a plate with a piece of lettuce and a little pot of... More
