Named after Japan's national flower the cherry blossom this sweet and shiny sushi restaurant is split over two floors and filled with glazed walnut furniture, a feature floral wall, bright and bubbly background music and cute Japanese lanterns. On the ground floor you can sit at the sushi train and choose from a superb selection of fresh sushi and sashimi or meals such as the salt and chilli sea bass or the roasted pork with curry udon noodles, while upstairs offers a variety of flexible spaces with plush carpets and sliding doors that are perfect for private parties.

felt very unwelcome as a solo diner, despite having eaten here very many times over the years as part of a group/couple/daughter's graduation... service was v slow, v sullen and in sharp contrast to the warm banter given to others (early evening, mid-week, quiet, so cannot see why this was so..) A smile or two would have been nice and... More

Had a delicious lunch here. Decided to sit beside the sushi conveyer belt and help ourselves to the delights which pass by. The ginger and wasabi add to the experience. Not content with devouring every different type of sushi that passed we also chose from the lunch menu - terriyaki beef with fried rice and Japanese curry with noodles. All... More

Very good sushi and a good variety of dishes available on the menu. Prices are in line with most sushi restaurants and it is in a great location. Also do good lunch and take away sushi. Very enjoyable evening.

I had sushi for the first time here and it was great. The staff are on hand to help you with your choice if you don't know what anything is. The lunch is great as you can choose from plates priced differently i.e. green =£1:50, blue =£2:00 etc. I loved the tuna a sweetcorn rolls.

Softshell crab roll, Dragon roll were excellent but the soy sauce had no taste and looked like light brown water. I was much lighter brown in color than normal soy sauce and had no taste. I visited twice in 3 days and the same bad soy sauce both time. Can they seriously be watering it down to make it last... More

Dear Customer, as the manager of Sakura. I am hereby explaining the circumstances whereas the soy sauce we provide is not being watered down and is instead being improved by adding‘mirin’, seaweed and other additional ingredients to increase the quality of the soy sauce, making it not too salty and more suitable for eating the sushi. Therefore, extra cost is... More

This is the best sushi place in Belfast (yes, better than Zen) and has lots for other people too. It's a nice relaxed atmosphere and the staff are really helpful and friendly. The sushi train is a brilliant deal for lunch time, slightly more expensive at night. Well worth a visit!

Lunch at Sakura is a must at least once a month! It is a bargain and the sushi tastes amazing! They do a nice eel rice dish too.

Our first time at Sakura after not been near any Japanese restaurants for a couple of years. We decided to try Sakura as a family Valentine's weekend treat and travelled to Belfast just to stay in the city and have a beautiful Japanese meal. And we were not disappointed ! I have eaten a lot of Japanese food while living abroad so I was keen to try Sakura. Went there at the weekend wife my wife. Excellent bowl of Miso soup and a portion of dumplings to start - also first class. For the main course I had the teryiaki chicken and tempura vegetables with fried rice. Large portions and... More
