Food was lovely, quick friendly service and great tasty food. Only issue is parking! Car park shared with busy premier inn next door, not many car park spaces so at peak times don't be surprised there's no spaces!

We are not keen on the Toby Carvery type of restaurant or its food, especially having had a poor meal at this one last year. However, at the end of a long day, it was the most convenient for the adjacent Premier Inn hotel so in we went... It turned out to be quite acceptable, reasonably quiet given that it... More

My husband and I called in on Tuesday evening after hospital appointment. We wanted a table for 2 which was so squashed you only had room to use knife and fork. The food was cold and did not look very appetising but we ate due to the lateness of the day. The waitress asked if we wanted a desert with... More

I had a German business visitor this week and he asked for typical British food, so I thought 'carvery'. The Toby at Lower Earley was great. Food was a very high standard, service was fast and friendly and the prices very reasonable. I think my visitor was pleasantly surprised. :)

Got here today and was told they didn't have ant tables for two! Its Valentine's day are the expecting orgies? There are approximately 25+ double tables pushed into 4's +6's - they could have made an effort! They said 20+ minutes to wait or sit at the bar (uuncomfortably) I was in a rush so sat at the bar -... More

Came here for a dinner, the turkey was good, beef quite fatty, potatoes dry, stuffing dry out, carrots old. The venue is clean +well presented, has a premier inn next door, well lite, ample parking, the staff are really helpful and an asset. Please sort your food quality out, thanks. I've been to many Toby's and had lovely meals, so... More

Great for a family lunch when there are hungry members in the group. Decent food at reasonable prices.

Visited on Friday night to celebrate my son's birthday. Had to wait until everyone in group arrived to be seated, this was annoying as it would have been nice to be seated to enjoy a drink at the table rather than sitting around "the bar". Food was OK, hot and plenty, unlike the Lower Earley restaurant. As we were one... More

I ate here recently when staying at the Premier Inn next door. I showed up at 8.45 on a Friday night and was quite lucky to get a table. I had the carvery, and all the meat was pretty good except the beef which was a bit stringy - but that was perhaps just the luck of the draw. Service... More

I ate here recently when meeting up with family. We had a large party and had booked in advance. The service was very good and our waitress was very friendly and attentive. There was a bit of a que for the carvery (about 10-15 minutes) but it was a saturday in the early evening. In terms of carvery, there was... More
