Nice ambience (but try to avoid sitting too close to the open kitchen area); friendly & helpful staff, without being 'over the top'; food reasonably priced and dishes tried to date have been excellent. We will be back again very soon.

Went with my parner, I cannot fault the food however we struggled tohear each otherover the kitchen noise. Not ideal.

Been a few times, every occasion experienced delicious, fresh food, very reasonably priced. Comprehensive choice (I cannot speak for vegetarians though) and it's great to see all the fresh veg on show with an open style pizza kitchen, gives a very honest feeling.

This is absolutely our favourite Italian restaurant, one we have visited for many special occasions (birthdays, anniversaries) as well as everyday occasions when we just feel like a break, or not doing the cooking. This restaurant is a bit out of the centre of Oxford. The tables in the back near the kitchen are quieter and there is less noise from the buses of St. Clements. The food is excellent. We had a very nice venison dish with mushrooms and spinach. Service is also very friendly.

I have been back to La Cucina (twice in the last month actually) and I have found the standard of cooking, the variety of the 'Special dishes' and the standard menu consistently very good indeed. Calamari from frozen rings. Should have stayed at home and got my own frozen food from Iceland! Then the pizza had frozen prawns, mussels and more squid rings put on whilst still frozen serving up a pizza with the sea food still swimming! If you are in Oxford looking for a place to have a good meal at a reasonable price, la cucina is a safe choice. Excellent starters and main courses, purely italian by italians, very good quality. If you want to go to a luxurious place, that's not it; but if food is the goal, it is a very good choice.
