Yes, the review that criticised the coffee here was bizarre indeed. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but we don't have to pretend to understand it! My mother prefers for example the most disgusting weak tea, that has virtually no flavour. As a black coffee and espresso drinker, I have to say that the Black Dog really is first class.... More

Small independent cafe doing very good coffee & breakfasts. Friendly, relaxed atmosphere & service. Good value.

We have been to this cafe several times. The food is always average - definitely nothing to rave about. Unimpressive salads and standard breakfasts. We do love the coffee though - they make a good Australian flat white.

We were on a trip nearby and I had seen good reviews. They were not wrong - the food was excellent, scrambled egg and lashings of smoked salmon with some lovely granary toast, and a macciato to knock your socks off. All with great service. Wish I lived closer.

I eat here at least twice a week. The food is lovely - the Black Dog croque is my favourite and my wife loves the flat white. Recommended.

Popped in for a quick lunch, great decision. Amazing Monmouth coffee and a seriously tasty chicken and chorizo toasted ciabatta. Recommended.

The black dog does great coffee and it's a perfect spot for breakfast at the weekend too, up there with Tiffin and Juliets as the nicest cafes in town. If you're a tourist, Camden road isn't necessarily on the main tourist route in TW but the black dog is definitely worth checking out.

It's worth venturing a little further down Camden road to this gorgeous little cafe. The menu has a good selection of sandwiches, salads, along with daily specials such as soup. The coffee is Great with very knowledgable staff. Always a warm welcome. Child friendly with a couple of high chairs. Only down side is it gets very packed due to... More
