Loved the different aged cheddar a and goat cheeses. We tried the 8 year old apple smoked and red pepper cream cheese and the garlic cream cheese. It was all so good with our prawns

It's hard to find a cute little cafe that has character and charm as well as great food. Hilary's cheese has it all. We walked in to an amazing smell of fresh homemade soup simmering on the stove top, and a roaring wood burning stove. The perfect spot for a relaxed lunch on a crisp February afternoon. We enjoyed a... More

Hilary's is a wonderful spot. For a homemade soup with heavenly bread and cheeses of your choice...warm up on a cold foggy day and watch the marina life and docks. The gulls and the ocean are there to enliven your mealtime! watch gulls shelling clams...eagles trying to catch pigeons off the rooftops...you name it. It's like a VERY large tv... More

This gem is in the heart of Cowichan Bay and is owned by none other than Hilary. He (yes, HE) has a vast array of cheese for purchases but also has other locally made products for sale in the front of the shop. In the back is a cafe where you can have sandwiches made-to-order and delicious soups. Don't miss... More

We have never met a cheese we didn't like at Hilary's. Our favourite is their goat cheese. Great soup and sandwiches also.

Stopped at Hilary's Cheese for lunch based on recommendations. The staff was friendly, the room cozy, and the lovely view of Salt Spring Island and the marina made me feel like I was in Nova Scotia, Maine, or even Italy. This added to the experience. The sandwiches we had were Turkey and Havarti cheese. The baguette was fresh, the cucumber... More

Hilary's Artisan Cheese is a small restaurant on the main street of Cowichan Bay. The artisan cheeses are excellent, the bread is from a nearby bakery, and the soups are good too. We found the staff friendly, efficient and helpful with suggestions. You can eat inside or on the pleasant front deck. There are several other restaurants nearby, but this... More

Stopped here on our drive from Qualicum to Victoria. Had a super sandwich lunch, freshly made with freshly brewed coffee. We sat inside with a great view out to the ocean. Friendly staff and clean washroomsc

We bought a soft cheese and two port-aged ones and loved them all. They only had a few other cheeses of their own production, the rest that they were selling were brought in.

We needed sandwiches for the boat crew and Hilary's opens at 9 so we could order and pack those on the boat for the crew. Later, I went back and chose some cheeses, dolmades(marinated stuffed grape leaf rolls with rice) and some salami for a light beach lunch for the landlubber! They are so gracious here, supplying a bit of... More
