our waitress had dirty nails and the place didn't seem clean at all. Coffee was cold, had to try 3 times and still not hot. The only thing good is the fishermans bread, but we will not even go in there for that! About 4 years ago it was excellent

This used to be a great restaurant, but then it changed ownership. There was a drastic drop it the quality of the service and the food.
Service was slow. Waitress was...............how do you say "out of her element", she looked/acted like a Greasy Spoon gal. The food took forever. Hollandaise sauce was ice cold, not room temperature as per the usual, and the hashbrown potatoes were extremely salty. The quantity of seafood was lacking, yet the good looking guy next to me got extra shrimp on...

Fisherman's bread is great. We enjoyed the curry. and a glass of wine, Pleasant atmosphere., and afterwards a stroll to the abutting waterfront shops below is welcoming.
I heard they had a new Owner. I guess they didnt listen, and tried to go cheap on the product and cheap on the quality of the product. We had fish and chips and a calamari dish that was totally unedible.
Westcoast fare at it's finest in a warm friendly atmosphere. Go with the seafood you will be rewarded.
Daughter suggested we take our relatives there as she has enjoyed their lunch menu. What a mistake! The special prawn, scallop, shrimp curry had been sitting for some time so seafood mostly tiny shrimp with a few even tinier scallops and a couple of swamp prawns was tough, the four slices of carrots were totally overcooked with no texture and...

Stopped for supper on BC Day. We asked at our motel where we could get good, fresh seafood and Swale Rock was recommended. Tasted promising when they served the excellent Fisherman's bread and homemade Bumbleberry jam but unfortunately that was the best part of the meal. The Fanny Bay oysters were hard to find in the heavy breading (looked like...

Worst service in the world, not only was the waitress the worst waitress I have ever seen she was the most insulting. The food was okay, not great, you would think being in Port Alberni you would get fresh prawns, but they were those little frozen things. When someone in our group sent his food back, cause he thought it...
