Had a lovely dinner chicken with goat cheese, and savoury lamb chops with delicious stacked scalloped potatoes. For dessert the lemon pie was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed the Cahors wine selection. It was a cold rainy mid week evening in May but the service was accommodating and pleasant. We stop in Quebec city every year. We will return to Mistral... More

My husband and I spent the day in Quebec City and stumbled across this restaurant. We went in and were met by the host who welcomed us and took our coats. We sat in the window and ordered wine, the escargot, fish of the day, beef with wild mushrooms and chocolate cake and creme brulee for desert. Everything was excellent!... More

We were there last sat nite. Only 2 other tables served. Should have known something was wrong. The atmosphere is like a cafeteria with cheap table cloths. The food is average at best. Our appetizer was served with our pre dinner drink within fifteen minutes of arrival but dinner took ages to arrive despite the fact that there were only... More

My family spent 4 nites in quebec & we ate out in 8 different restaurants, but we all agreed that our favorite was mistral gagnant...we had 4 different appeitizers & 4 different main courses & desserts, all very good at reasonable prices, plus the wines that were recommended were excellent!

Had a terrific table d'hôte lunch of two fishes (salmon and bass) preceded by a light and lovely potato leek soup with creme brûlée for dessert. Everything was cooked perfectly. The price was extremely reasonable and the service was both warm and efficient. I have been to Quebec many, many times and this is my favorite so far. On the... More

My husband and I wanted French cuisine and had read about this little restaurant on Tripadvisor. We were immediately charmed by the owner who came from the southern France town of Toluce. The atmosphere was very much like Provence. We ordered the salmon with capers appetizer which was delicious. The chicken stuffed with goat cheese was perfect and the accompanying... More
