This was my first time at Chambar and my first time trying Belgian cuisine. My friend and I had to try mussels and frites naturally and both were excellent. Our entrees were creative and well prepared. I'm not much of a beer drinker but had our server recommend something not overly hoppy tasting. He had full descriptions of all the... More

A terrific spot for dinner where the food is actually excellent, well presented, always hot. However, the prices are over the top expensive.

They encourage you to leave your day behind and enjoy your evening with them...and enjoy we did. We did not have a reservation but they seated us in a short time at a table though we had to turn down their first offer of a cozy lower table and sink into sofa style seats due to my husband's back injury.... Nothing to add to this excellent address to visit in Vancouver. A nice interior blended with French kitchen, and topped with an excellent choice of Belgian beers. Beware of the prices, they are equivalent to a good French restaurant. Little sidenote: beers are served in their appropriate glasses, a superbe Belgian touch!

Chambar will always impress. Insane selection of beer here - every dish we have ever ordered has been top notch. STILL the BEST mussels in town! Service is friendly. Great place to go for couples, friends, colleagues...

The food and presentation were astoundingly good! Service was impeccable. I had the halibut and it was delicious! The desserts were awesome. Very warm and comfortable setting.

A last minute decision to go to Chambar proved quite nice. Four of us decided to just have appetizers. The tuna was very nice. Prawns three ways were amazing. The rabbit was a cooked perfect. All the food was seasoned perfectly. Service was over the top. With some great sugestions.

We were in a larger group (10 people), and had very good service for the meal. The food was absolutely great, from the mussels, to the spot prawns, to the lamb, and the specially prepared vegetarian and celiac friendly meals - everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food. The selection of Belgium beer was also a big hit. The wine list was... More

We've been to Chambar for lunch and dinner a number of times. We even celebrated our engagement there! The food, service and atmosphere are all amazing. The restaurant describes itself as 'unpretentious fine dining' and that's bang on! And very refreshing from all the pretentious restaurants downtown. Oh and you have to try their mussels. Delicious!

It's a fancy place and pricy, but it's totally worth it to give it a try. The vin blank mussles that we tried was just perfect, and the chef's selection of dessert is worth every penny! We also tried the roasted halibut with crispy chickpeas but it was not anything special.
