Excellent food at decent prices in simple surroundings! We had two specials, rice cakes and pork belly salad: excellent. We also had sushimi and sushi rolls: excellent, on a par with Bluetail's. Overall, the best Asian food in Kelowna that I have had. I haven't tried Mabui, yet, simply they don't have ANY gluten-free dishes, which I find strange in... More

There hasn't been a visit when I've been disappointed. In fact, it's been one delightful surprise after another. Flavors and presentation are unbeatable in this restaurant style in Kelowna. This is our "go to place" for a comfortable dinner/lunch out, Great service is just the icing on the cake. The menu is full of well prepared standbys, but it's the... More

I first tried this restaurant after I received a gift certificate for Christmas. We have a a 19 month old, and are cautious going to restaurant as a family. When we arrived, the wonderful server welcomed us with a smile, had a high chair ready, and brought our daughter her own 'hello kitty' plate and cutlery. Nice touch. We then... More

These guys really have nailed good sushi. Always a good time, especially with Sapporo on tap. My favorite appetizer is the spicy yam salad, which i recommend to all. Always a great selection of sushi and sashimi, and the specials are always good bet too! Definitely a repeat in my books!

We are new to Japanese food, and when the small plates came, it was a big part of the dinner just to enjoy how everything was so nicely presented. But the great taste is what will bring us back, and we will bring our friends. This is one of those restaurants where you could easily become a "regular"- and it... More

After a number of poor dining experiences in Kelowna, I was really pleasantly surprised by the quality of food here. I dropped into this place after wandering around downtown. Atmosphere is cafe-like and casual; prices are really reasonable; staff is friendly and attentive. I ordered some "spicy yakisoba" (really, bacon yakisoba, I know, kind of unusual) which were absolutely delicious... More

Found this restaurant through Groupon. Stopped in for dinner last night and had a tasty, filling meal. We arrived a bit early but in minutes people started coming in - some to dine in and some for take-out. With the Groupon was a set 3 course menu with the entre being your choice. Given my questionable dexterity with chop sticks... More

If you're looking for a cookie-cutter, same old/same old sushi place, Wasabi Izakaya is not your place. They're a little bit more innovative at this downtown Kelowna location than your average sushi place.. We dropped in to Wasabi Izakaya after a fundraising event in mid-November before heading home. We'd heard a few good comments from associates so we wanted to... More

Its been a couple years since we have been back to Kelowna. This was the second time we ate at Wasabi. The food was very good and the menu was original, as one would expect from an Izakaya. Ramen, ribs, sushi and more. Wasabi would give any Izakaya in Vancouver a good run for their money! Great food and service,... More
