Food and wine overpriced for lunch Caprese of cherry tomatoes and a baked yellow one for $21???? (See photo) come on Pasta ok, meat balls tasteless and almost no texture
The food at Mercato and Mercato West is good. However, we have been turned away now 6 times at non-peak hours. Four times now we have been turned around because there were "no tables available" despite there being at least six or seven free tables, and they have not offered to seat us at the kitchen/bar. We have tried to... More
I have tried just about everything on the menu in both the restaurant and the Pizza bar. I have never been disappointed with a dish they recommended or with a pizza I have ordered. Recently I celebrated my birthday with 18 people at this wonderful establishment and it was amazing as always. On a weekly basis my kids and I... More
Hubby and I visited Mercato's on a date night. We don't mind shelling out $$ for a nice meal out, but this one fell a bit short. It was all fine and good service, but just not quite worth a higher than average price. The atmosphere is busy and a bit flashy - not intimate at all. Seems like a... More
Mercato West is divided into 3 sections - the market, the restaurant, and a pizza bar. The pizza bar is incredible. WAY better than any pizza place downtown. We visited Mercato for a special occasion and was not disappointed at all! It felt like a little slice of Italy in Calgary. Wonderful food and wine selection. Service was a bit spotty, but the atmosphere and food certainly made up for it. It is a bit pricey, so good to visit for special occaisions.
Enjoyed the family style menu....venue rather noisy due to garage style building but overall an enjoyable evening of dining. The gnocchi was amazing.
I visit Mercato West once or twice a month for lunch, as I live in the area and I'm currently on maternity leave. The pizza and wine bar is a great place to bring kids, they're very accommodating. But it still feels like you're going to a nice place for lunch where you can, if desired, enjoy a good glass... More
The setting is a blend of both modern and traditional here; concrete floors but some reasonable wall treatments. Seating can be at the bar or at the tables, either works fine. Service is good and the food is well prepared but a bit too expensive overall. The salad dressing was better than the last time we went when we found... More
