Fabulous restaurant conveniently located one block off the main jardin. Delicious french flair menu, served with beautiful presentation......great flavors and perfectly cooked. Very nice courtyard dining area, but you can also choose the main inside dining room. Complete menu with something for everybody.

We dined at this beautiful and serene spot on 2 occasions during a recent trip to San Miguel. Everything was spot on. Attentive and charming service, lovely out door dining area, fresh food, perfectly prepared. The menu had a little something for everyone. Asian and French inspired cuisine with fresh and perfectly prepared local ingredients. Artisan cheeses with good wine... More

Chamonix (Sollano 17, San Miguel de Allenda (SMA), Gto. tel. 415-154-8363). The patio of this restaurant that bills itself as French is lovely and there was a little breeze. We thought the inside was well designed too. We ordered too much but everything was good. We started with the red snapper with stuffed mushroom (M$195). It was a very large... More

Again this restaurant is consistently good with their food. I love their soups and salads. The wine by the glass is limited but they have a good selection of bottles of wine. It is tastefully decorated and has a pretty little gift shop in front. If I have lunch and it is sunny the courtyard is perfect. Otherwise there is... More

We love Chamonix with its pretty courtyard and charming staff who always make you feel so welcome - I just celebrated my birthday there with family and had a wonderful meal - my children snuck a cake into kitchen which was served with many candles and a rousing chorus of Happy Birthday - we will go back often and would... Chamonix, Sollano 17. This is one of my favorite spots in San Miguel. There is a quaint shop in front specializing in all things french. There are 2 dining areas, one inside, one outside patio. There is no view from the dinging areas, but that's made up for by the charm of the decor. The outside patio is enclosed with... More

You'd think this might be a French restaurant. But we had food which was a mix of Mexican, Vietnamese, Italian. It was actually quite good, and it's all in a lovely little courtyard with umbrellas. Good service, too. Cost was 620 pesos (including tip) with two beers each and a good dinner for two.

My partner and I stumbled upon this restaurant, tucked away around the corner from the main plaza (El Jardin). What a great find! Excellent food and service with good prices, a great value. It's location is a quiet little courtyard around the corner from the main plaza with the fabulous Baroque cathedral, so you're just steps from all the evening... More

Pros: A beautiful, romantic space and attentive, professional wait staff. Cons: Ingredients are sometimes not the freshest, some dishes are cooked in advance and frozen (we were once served an ancient, gray chocolate mousse here), and microwavery is involved in the cooking.
