We had passed this restaurant a few times as we walked around Merida, and finally decided to give it a try after our fellow guests at the B&B recommended it. We were very happy we did. The food was excellent (pizza and calzone from a wood fired stove). The beautiful outside eating area complete with water feature and pleasant jazz... More

I had a Greek Panini, which was very good. My wife and I shared a bowl of soup made with Papaya or mango (can't remember which) which apparently is served cold, much to my surprise! The "soup " was okay, although it seemed more like a mango (or papaya) salsa that I should have been dipping tortilla chips in! The... More

Rescoldos is a little out of the main centre of Merida, but for us staying on Av Colon it was halfway back to the hotel so really convenient. The menu has a good range of Mediterranean dishes, including loads for vegetarians. There's a really nice courtyard out the back for eating al fresco

Sometimes when visiting a new culture you just need a break from all the differences. Rescoldos makes you feel like you are at home, only better. The setting is a very intimate garden. The service is excellent but unobtrusive. I love their Greek Salad and wood fire pizzas. Try the homemade gelato...yummy!

We spent our last night in Merida at Rescoldos with high expectations after reading all the reviews. The place is nice and service good but the food was somewhat not as good. The Greek salad and the artichokes dip were ok. My wife had the Lasagne, but they were not the italian lasagne but more of a sandwich like plate... More

We tried a number of restaurants with mostly disappoinments until we discovered Rescoldos. In fact, we returned three times for dinner (they are not opened for lunch). We felt the Greek salad was better than the Caesar salad. One visit we split a pizza from the wood burning oven as an appetizer. The best thing on the menu was the... More

Pizza was ok but the greek salad was way over-dressed and loaded with vinegar. We actually found the locale to be better than the food overall. Maybe it was just a bad night but having been to other restaurants in Merida, it definitely wouldn't be our first choice to go to again.

My partner and I have a home in Merida and eat at Rescoldos at least once every trip we make to our home. Jake and Rayann have created such a great atmosphere and the food and service are always fantastic. We just ate there last night and we both had the ravioli and, as usual, it was outstanding. Rayann's pasta... More

My wife and I, along with many friends very much enjoy this restaurant. It is small, family run restaurant using fresh ingredients. I love Greek cuisine and find that food to be excellent. It is very difficult to find any kind of Greek food in mexico. We usually have a Greek appetizer and pizza. We have yet to try the... More

In response to your comments, our wines are kept in a Wine Cooler not a refrigerator,to preserve the quality of our wines and pertect them from Merida's intense temperatures; as every other restaurant does. We have always served our wine in these stemless wine glasses, yes because of breakage we have opted for this style of glass, it is a... More
