On our last trip, it was so hot in the new location that Manuel set us up across the street for a fantastic dinner.
This is a local's favorite restaurant. We ate there because of the reviews we had read and even went back more than once. It is a tiny place and I didn't think we was ever going to find it because we kept being told it had shut down. When we told one local we had found it and loved it,... More
The place isn't much for the effite who can't stand eating local when they travel, but for those with even an ounce of adventure, and for those who actually want to experience good Mexican food, La Negrita is an IM must! Here, you will find huge portions! Here you will find mexican food three steps above the typical Yucatecan fare,... More
We ate here twice on our trip and both times we were the only locals in this small six table restaurant. The food is local Mexican, fresh and very good. If you want a beer the owner runs next door to the mini-mercado and gets it for you (you can also get it yourself). Tacos, nacho’s, fajitas’, everything we had... More

La Negrita is a small loncheria on a side street in Isa Mujeres, Mexico. It is family run and hard to find. But if you are ambitious and hungry, you will not be disappointed. The food is excellent and cheap. Don't be put off by the looks of the place, it is old and looks it. The owner is always... More

Manuel is a 5 star man! He is such a friendly happy person and I'm so glad I met him! GreekCook's review has a phrase that hits the nail on the head..."You can eat there too if you're not squeamish about the setting." The restaurant itself is kind of cool (and some things in it made for great photos like... More
