Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

One would never believe that a lovely little tea house like this exists in Port of Spain! Apart from each item on the menu being absolutely amazing, the service provided by these nuns is exceptional. I highly recommend the Abercrombie Tea House

This quaint restaurant and tea shop is located in the city on the grounds of St. Joseph's Convent School. The ambience is great, the menus are fantastic and so is the service.. Excellent value for the prices. A Nun even comes to your table with...a word of wisdom written for you to take away. Parking is also available on the compound. I will recommend this restaurant to all of my friends and persons I come into contact.More

I have visited that Tea House on many occasions and never left disappointed. The offering is always worth the wait as the wait can be lengthy at times. But don't be dismayed, stay and experience it all

Reasonable prices and decent coffee, snacks and prix fixe meals in a comfortable air-conditioned room on the Abercrombie Street side of St. Joseph's Convent, run by the sisters of Cluny. The staff and atmosphere are pleasant. Open from 11:00 AM untill about 4:00 PM.

This tea house is run by nuns who provide great tasting food and mouth watering desserts. Service is great and ambience is very nice. The only negative is that the are closed during school vacations

The Abercrombie Tea House is an oasis in the midst of the bustling capital. Do not be misguided by the name "Tea House". They serve absolutely delicious meals throughout the day. The team provides the type of service that I love, they are there when...you need them and definitely not intrusive. Ours was a class reunion of sorts and we were provided a range of tasty vegetarian and nonvegetarian hand foods. The curried corn in coconut milk which I initially avoided trying was actually delicious!More

The atmosphere was really nice with nice ambient music. Beautiful decor Service was good, and the server was very helpful and welcoming. The food was good. I would go again in future The only thing is that its a little bit of a walk from...Independence Square, so its just easier to go somewhere else to eat, but I would make the effort for this place. Prices are a tiny bit high for lunch but worth it. I wish the was a fruit plate to order. Oh! there is free wifi if you need it there.More

My children go to school in the area and so I always face the question...Mummy can we go to the Tea House? The ambience is so cosy and we feel like family. The food and pastries are always well done. It also helps that there...is Wi Fi so we can get some work done if needed:-)More

Went for lunch with a Trinidadian friend and regular of the spot. The service was friendly and fast, the food very tasty. I had the fresh fish over a salad. The fish was delicious- seasoned wonderfully. The salad had all kinds of veggies in addition...to the lettuce. I also had their energy smoothie (supposedly the first day they offered it). If you don't know Trini juices, they are all sweetened where you can barely taste the fruit. Orange juice? No, orange flavored sugar water. Anyway, that is frustrating for someone not used to fruit being so sweet. Long story short, the smoothie was perfect! Not sweet, just right. Everything was presented nicely as well with matching tableware, paper doily placemats, real flatware. A true gem if you're tired of fried chicken and roti.More

We discovered this delightful Tea House quite by accident recently and enjoyed a light fare lunch, with soup. All prepared by a friendly staff in a clean and modern oasis on upper Abercrombie Street. Such fun when you discover such a prize.

Abercrombie Tea House is a lovely, small but quaint restaurant located on upper Abercromby Street, run by some lovely nuns, who not only serve, but prepare the food. The décor is impeccable, the service is fast and friendly, the selection is good, the taste is...fantastic and the price cannot be beat. It is a charming place that I hope to visit again soon and I would definitely recommend going there if you need lunch or afternoon tea in Port-of-Spain. They even have free Wi-Fi!More
