It was a rainy Saturday afternoon my mom and I stop for a hot espresso coffee (cortadito) and believe me the coffee taste like dishes water. Awful
Went here for breakfast one morning and the line was out the door. After walking around to see what else was around we decided to go back to Cafe Mallorca (so glad we did). Even though the line was still long it only took us a few minutes to get a table. We ordered a ham, egg and cheese mallorca... More
Really enjoyed breakast & cakes here, stunned it's not rated much higher. Some of the staff are fairly senior but still highly attentive, efficient & pleasant. Huge number of locals eating here, which is always a good barometer of quality & value. Cakes were top class, delicious.
My wife liked this place better than I did--I would have rated it "Poor." Cafeteria Mallorca was recommended by the front desk at the Sheraton Old San Juan as an unpretentious, affordable breakfast option. We first tried it on a Sunday morning, and although it was packed with both tourists and locals, we were seated quickly. Nothing was quick after... More
We enjoyed our first breakfast in San Juan at this very run down little cafe that our taxi driver recommended. When we walked in we were a little nervous of what we had just entered but the staff soon put us at ease. They were older gentlemen(one of which was 82) running about all over the place as fast as... This little diner is in Old San Juan. We were there on a very busy morning for breakfast. It is very difficult to find a place that has breakfast in Old San Juan. and this place was perfect. The food was good but not hot when it came. I consider how busy it was and realized they were overwhelmed. The... More
Great location in old San Juan, but not a place to witch I would return. You have to disregard the run-down feeling of the place, the graffiti in the men's room, and plastic eating utensils. After you do that, the food is tasty but not exceptional.
Had breakfast here. We had the cheese mallalorcas, eggs, & coffee. Everything was OK. Nothing spectacular & nothing bad. Ambiance was like walking into an old Woolworth's diner. Food with a tip was $30. We left hungry. Nobody smiled at us while we were there. There are so many wonderful places in San Juan to eat breakfast, unfortunately this isn't... More
You can get your standard lunch fare here, as well as a Mallorca, which is a slightly sweet, buttery pastry type roll that is heated in a panini/sandwich type press. I had the chicken mufungo and husband had the liver and onions. Left satisfied and not too much poorer. Cost was good.
