Wow, every village needs a tearoom like this and also a Gary and Mark who offer so much more to their customers. They welcome you so warmly and I know we have been many times now but they always remember us even if it a while between visits. Food has to tried absolutely excellent and homemade using local produce, the... More

My friend and I recently stopped in for a cup of tea on our way home from a weekend in Wales. We were stunned to walk in to such a lovely setting, and amazed at the wide range of items available in the shop! We both felt it was lovely that it's not just a tea shop, but the village... More

Having completed the 16 mile round black and white villages bike route (recommended) in vicious cold and twixt snow capped hills I stopped in for some tea. A great warm welcome, with a wood burner roaring, supported by really tasty winter vegetable soup ("made this morning") with real bread, followed by a great crisp lemon tart topped with fresh blackberries... What a wonderful lunch to celebrate my birthday today & a treat for my mum and myself with my children for Mother's Day. Great to see Gary again and taste the excellent menu he provides for his lucky customers. Sam, a wonderful hug on arrival and when we left - you are a diamond and once again, we felt like... More

We were staying up the road in Titley and popped to a Pembridge for tea and cake. We found Ye Olde Steppes by luck and the seven of us were greeted by the amazing Sam and had the Parlour all to ourselves - the service and food were amazing and Gary was a great host. Two bottles of wine and... More

Ye Olde Steppes There is no other word than truely amazing.. Gary and Mark have the most homely tearoom. We could have stayed all afternoon. Lunch was a delight, lots of flavours making a perfect marriage.. With mum moving only a mile down the road things couldnt get better.. Sam xx

What a magically setting a stunning black and white building, the snow just adding to its beauty like a dusting of icing sugar on a cake. We have only recently moved into Pembridge, we have not found time to eat out in Pembridge yet. Well the snow from the last few days has given us the opportunity, to explore the... More

Hi There, Apologies that it has taken so long to respond to your lovely review. We've had a super busy start to the year which has meant spending lots of time baking cakes for the tearoom and little time getting a chance to review the lovely comments we've had. Thank you so very much for taking the time to review... More

This should be the blueprint for a typical English Tearoom -Top quality, great service, value and locally sourced and homemade produce. I can't recommend this place highly enough! My favourite Tearoom (including the Lake District) so far in the UK and I can't see it being beaten anytime soon!

Hi Nudeman! What a lovely review, thank you so very much. We've set out the tearoom just as we would like a tea room to be so I'm really pleased that you enjoyed it and that you'll hopefully be back again soon. Please let us know when you are here and we'll sort you out with a complementary big slice... More

This is a delightful tea room in a charming location - a mediaeval style timbered building. For history buffs, it's also the village where Owain Glendower used to hold meetings! How nice to find a tea room that serves quality teas and light lunches in a traditional English setting with real china cups and saucers. The staff are lovely, particularly... More

Hi Sarah, thank you very much for the lovely review! I'm really pleased you enjoyed your visit to our old building! She's almost 500 years old and was once the Rectory to the church at the end of the garden. Steppes has been the village shop since 1977 which I think is pretty amazing! I'm so pleased you liked our... More
