I visited this place in march and found a very good selction of dishes, all of them very good and tasty. The location, inside a shopping mall, is not the best, but the view from the restaurant is amazing, looking at the rainbow bridge and the skyline of Tokyo. We tried some appetizers and some of them were really delicious... More

A group of us visiting Japan ate at Gonpachi the end of February 2013. We knew of the place from the movie Kill Bill inspired by it. We made reservations, and went there. Initially there was a long wait still, and they wanted to seat us downstairs with no view. That defeated the point of coming here. We asked for... More

I loved this place as i was looking for a traditional japanese restaurant, loved the place, the food and the view was spectacular! The prices are really good and there are many choices. I also liked to be able to get my own salad, soup and drinks..i really recommend this place and i hope i can return soon!

Quite a well known eating spot, I guess, with it being the filming location of Kill Bill.. Liked the atmosphere of the place, somewhat intimate.. But if you came to eat, I can't say the food is the best.. It's good at the very least, but not extraordinaryly so.. The sushi selection is meager, and it probably doesn't taste that... More

The izakaya style eating experience is one of Japan's best but it is hard to find an izakaya with an English menu. Gonpachi offers a good range of small dishes, with a focus on skewered meet. The prices are not necessarily small - a single skewer of steak (not Kobe beef or anything like it) came in at Yen1500. However... More

For around 1,000 yen, you can have a great lunch at the Kill Bill place. They have a wonderful small salad bar that includes your drinks, a small green salad, soup, and sometimes the best fried fresh calamari ever. I usually order the fried shrimp bowl with white rice for 850 yen. The Soba can be added for 150 yen... More

We went there as a big group early on in a trip; it was fun, atmospheric, boisterous and friendly. Easy introduction for foreigners to Japan. And of course in Kill Bill. I'm getting hungry writing this review

This is the restaurant that inspired Tarantino's crazy fight scene in Kill Bill Vol. 1 so naturally it has become a tourist attraction. The food is somewhat westernized Japanese to suite more tastes than that of the acquired ones. Sushi is good and there are some creative appetizers and good soba noodles for those who like them. The atmosphere is... More

It is a nice place to entertain novice Gaijin visitors. If you do not want to take risk then this is it. The atmosphere is good and service staff are friendly and they all speak English. The quality of food, especially the menu from grilled section (e.g. Yakitori) is not bad at all for a restaurant catering for tourist and... More

The food is good, but the setting is great. Very Japanese, and home of a famous scene in Kill bill because it is so quintessential.
