"This summer, TripAdvisor.com has begun customizing its E-mail messages.

Those who register at its site automatically receive TripAdvisor's weekly newsletter -- which, among other things, lists travel promotions from other companies and reprints travel articles from hundreds of publications -- and in addition, can ask for more specific information. When a user searches for information about London, say, there is a link on the top left-hand side of that city's front page, entitled 'get new reviews and deals for London added to your newsletter.' Then TripAdvisor sends E-mail updates when new articles, reviews and commentary about the city have been posted on the site."
