A review like this is even hard to reply to without making the guests look like dufus's, I guess you need to do nothing more than read the other reviews. But to just help you a little I will touch on the gallon jug of water in the refrigerater, it is in the back, behind about 15 normal water bottles for the guests. Most guests have found the tractors and farm equiptment to bring back memories of the past. The private door is advertised AS access to the DECK. Other reviewers also remark about the beauty of the Bookcliffs. In all fairness these guests have been the exception to all of our wonderful guests, so enough said. Though we did find Sam to be friendly, we did not feel that the Bookcliffs B&B was advertised honestly. True, it is central to area attractions, but the cover photo of a serene view of Bookcliffs is far from the truth! As Sam and Judy will tell you, the housing development across their busy thoroughfare has now obscured most of their view of the cliffs. The neighbor with all the tractors and machinery across the expansive gravel drive to your left when you enter does little to improve that view either. Our "private" bathroom was located down the hall from our room and directly adjacent to that huge screen television mentioned by another reviewer, perched in front of the wrap-around sofa in the community room. Not private by any stretch of the imagination as it would be accessible to anyone who might be using the living area. The community gallon jug of water provided in the refrigerator next to our designated bathroom was not very enticing either, though that might be a bit picky to mention. Though the house was air conditioned nicely (it is a hot summer everywhere, it seems), there was no AC vent in our room. There was also no key offered to our room, so I suppose if we had left for dinner, we would have been compelled to take everything with us of value. Our "private entrance" mentioned in the amenities opened onto the public deck and the door glass at the top had no cover for privacy once inside. Sam was nice to accommodate our slightly later breakfast than his other two guests, but microwaving our egg/gravy dish as not exactly what we are accustomed to from our other B&B stays. Sorry to be so disparaging of this experience, but compared to our other choices in Colorado and Wyoming, and particularly in light of the pictures and descriptions of this facility, we felt compelled to offer a little more truth to the advertising. Sam and Judy seem to be perfectly nice folks, and we appreciated the cleanliness of the room and their home, but we did leave feeling a bit duped by what we were sold.
