  "We came across from Kusadasi, Turkey on the ferry (€60 return, 90 minutes) and stayed here for 2 nights (€90 via booking.com). We had a room at the front on the top floor overlooking the pool and the beach. Self-service breakfast was included which was ok and there is a restaurant onsite which looke..."d good but we didn't use. We used the pool which has a swim-up pool bar which was good for snacks and drinks and friendly service. The hotel has its ownn sunbeds laid out on the beach in front of the hotel for which they charge. Rooms are quite small but more than adequate for the length of stay. It takes about 15 minutes at a brisk place to get to Pythagorion (it's a little bit furter than indicated on the website, i.e. 1800m or so, €5 by taxi) The location is great with view out to Kalymos and other Greek islands so it can provide a lazy and idyllic couple of days.   "We went to hotel Evelin on 31st May for 2 weeks on reccomendation of the Thomson advisor who knows me, at first site I was not sure, but very quickly realised what a wonderful place this is. I asked to change rooms immediately as I didnot want a front room because there is a road in front. However, ..."in hindsite everyone I spoke to said it is not a problem with noise. The receptionist could not have been not helpful, she showed me 2 rooms to choose from and advised me on them, the room was lovely. The owners have had the place for many years and are quietly on hand keeping things shipshape. Alex the receptionist is a one off and constantly asks if you are ok and will give advise on the island. When you return from your day she aks how you enjoyed it. The whole of the staff at the hotel and bar are customer focused, they are one big family team and happy, this relfect on the hotel and makes you feel at home. The hotel is kept spotlessly clean, staff are attentive, food is excellent both breakfast and evening meals. Lovely pool and pool area, and 2 private beaches wi..."th a very relaxing beach bar. For those less able/walking difficulties both pool and beach are at the bottom of a very steep hill, nevertheless the hotel provides buggy transport both up and down should you require. One thing lacking in this hotel was the absence of a mini market, where one could buy papers, toiletries etc. We had to go into Pythagorian to stock up. We really enjoyed our holiday and Samos and the Proteas Blu lived up to our expectations " More >
