I'd booked a "Tradition" room which was the cheapest, the room was large, well furnished and had the best bed I've ever had in a hotel (apart from a Sofitel!). The staff were really friendly and wanted to chat - very unusual in France - so no complaints about the service. There is a bar/restaurant - I ate there one night, the food was simple but nicely cooked and well presented and quite good value for 25 euros in this type of hotel. Are there any downsides, well only that its a bit difficult to find and there's virtually no mobile signal (a common problem in small French towns), but I will def stay there again. " More >

When we arrived, we picked up the hire car and set out for Neffies. The drive was very picturesque with beautiful tree lined roads and views across the vineyards for 30-40 mins until we arrived in the village. When we arrived, we found a sleepy, rustic French wine-growing village, full of beautiful old buildings. Maison Dix itself is stunning!
