When we visited last time way back when, possibly March 2012, it was raining cats & dogs and we had a hard time getting even from our cabin to the dining area. It was also very cool. However, through the pouring rain & mist I had noticed that it was a beautifu..."l place and another trip was a must. Voila! This time we managed to do the longest hike (around 2 and half hours) enjoying every bit of it admiring the vast array of trees, bushes, mosses, vines, and tangling roots. We were serenaded by many birds and yelled at by Howler monkeys. The forest was very humid, but luckily there were no leaches that I have often found in other countries with similar climates. I was truly very happy to be surrounded by such beautiful environs. I also found the pond (lagoon or whatever you call that man-made body of water) closer to the hotel grounds, a great place to observe an active ecosystem.
