  "My wife and I stayed at the JR Inn during a weeklong getaway which included DC. It is really a fabulous old home with fascinating early 19th C. and Civil War history behind it. Joanne and Paul were excellent hosts and the breakfasts were delicious (and ample). Although we missed the Memorial Day par..."ade along Main Street on Saturday, we chose to take bicycles following the old canal towpath to Harper's Ferry- what a fun ride! Total distance was almost 27 miles and quite workout through beautiful riverside scenery (a treat for us, being West Texas desert rats). We wholeheartedly recommend the Inn to anyone with an interest in history and wanting to revisit "small-town America". " More >

  "Awesome historic B & B on the edge on the Antietam battlefield!"
  "We made last minute plans to stay hear a week before our anniversary. They were so accommodating. The Antietam room on the 2nd floor is awesome. You get a huge porch that overlooks the garden. They roast and brew their own coffee! One of the many exciting things at breakfast."

  "From lively, Civil War-themed décor to lavish, lovingly-made breakfasts, this was the best of the B&Bs we've visited. Joanne & Paul worked hard to make their guests happy and comfortable, but made it seem effortless. Always homemade cookies in the dining room and breakfast recipes from Better Homes ..."and Gardens (or possibly Southern Living). The grounds and garden were at their early-summer best, demurely colorful. There were even garden bunnies who greeted us in their early evening silflay. We will never go anywhere else if we're in the area; it couldn't get any better than this. " More >
