  "I am accustomed to staying at the best places I can find when I travel. This place did not disappoint. That said, the rooms themselves are what I would call "average". But everything else is well above average or outstanding. We had an ocean FRONT room on the third floor overlooking Poipu Beach...". The room is so close to the ocean I could have spit from the balcony to the ocean, not that I wanted to. But it was really nice going to sleep with the roar of the ocean every night and awaking to the same sound every morning. Also, it is very easy to watch the surfers from that balcony. Didn't see many kids here. Mostly couples, which suited us just fine. But service here was absolutely as good as at any "5-star" place you care to name... Probably better. Most of the staff knew us by name after the first day. Valet parking was free, courteous, fast, and hassle-free.   "My husband and I stayed at the Koa Kea for 4 nights for our honeymoon. We started in Waikiki for 2 nights and then made it to Kauai to stay at the Koa Kea. The Koa Kea and Kauai in general were a breath of fresh air coming from Oahu. We were pleasantly surprised by the personal attention and ser..."vice at the Koa Kea. For example at check in we were personally escorted to our room. There was a bottle of champagne waiting for us in the room probably because we were celebrating a special occasion. Each time I asked the staff a question, for example when I asked where I could find pool towels, the staff member went and got some towels for me instead of pointing. At first I was a little annoyed that valet was mandatory, but the valet guys were so nice and helpful that I didn't mind. And they always got our car very promptly.   "This unit is gorgeous and was the perfect spot for us to celebrate our 25th anniversary. The décor was very nice and we had everything we needed in the condo. I love that the lanai was right up against the ocean and I could sit out there any time and just watch the water, surfers, sea turtles, et..."c. I sure wish I was there right now! This was our first time to Kauai so when I researched where to stay I was hoping this location would be a good fit for us and it sure was. We had dinner at the Beach House next door one night, which was very good, and a very special place to watch the sunset. Our favorite meal that week though was definitely Keoki’s Paradise, which was a very short drive from the condo. We also really enjoyed snorkeling right next to the condo and saw a huge variety of fish there.
