  "We have been coming to La Cala for 14 years before the houses were built ! The Golf courses are in excellent condition and the rangers and starters extremely friendly and helpful ! The Hotel are very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble to arrange We were disappointed to discover that there ..."is no longer a bell boy service as when you come to a golf resort with clubs and luggage it is a struggle to get all to ones room in one trip The choices at breakfast have become victims of cost cutting and there is not enough for those wanting a healthy option We will invariably return but hope there are improvements to the items mentioned above " More >

  "We stayed at the Macdonald Dona Lola resort for 8 days from the 10th -18th May. 2 adults, 2 children in a two bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment. Beachfront. You pay extra for a beachfront apartment but we thought it was well worth it. We stayed in Vanessa 204 and selected an upper level apartment becaus..."e you get better views and more sun in the afternoon/evening. Our room was extremely spacious. Lovely decor and very clean. Adequately equipped with everything you'd need in the kitchen from cutlery to pans, gravy boats to electric orange juicers! If you stay here, I'd highly recommend you rent a car. It's a great base point, but if you want to go anywhere - Fuengirola, Mijas, Marbella etc then hire car is the way forward. That being said, there are plenty of bus stops nearby. On the resort grounds, there are a couple of places to eat but choice is limited. Right next to the entrance are a couple of eateries. The Look Inn (UK), Maharani (Indian) DaVinci's (Italian).   "We stayed at Los Amigos from 11th til 18 th May. Had a lovely time as the apartments and complex were beautiful. Every member of staff that you meet from reception to maintenance are pleasant and very friendly, never pass by without saying hola. No entertainment programme for the children but this w..."as to be expected as the schools are not on holiday yet, this did not stop the children from joining in with the games, jewellery making, cooking classes, Spanish lessons that were organised for the adults (they were encouraged to join in. ) Rowina the activities person was wonderful and my girls fell in love with her. Food was great in Las Casitas and all the staff were very nice there too. Would recommend the half board option, well worth the money. Supermarket on site was basic but you could get what you needed for a breakfast or lunch. Only problem was the amount of sparrows flying around, only a problem because I hate birds.
