The owner went out of her way to greet us each day and give helpful suggestions. The staff was friendly and attentive.   "We visited from England in May 2013 and stayed for 2 nights at the outstanding Inn at 400 West High. We have never put a review on Trip Advisor before (we travel a lot) but felt compelled to do so as this is truly a special little place. Carolyn the owner was a charming and genuinely lovely host. ..." As we are both vegetarians she made sure we had a fantastic breakfast of fruit, granola & yoghurt followed by a lovely spinach & cheese breakfast casserole & waffles on the second day all cooked fresh. The living room and garden area was enchanting; everywhere you looked there was something unique and interesting to take in. The bedroom itself (Macintyre room) was perfect, huge king bed (super king in UK), rain shower, free Wi-Fi (you don't get this at the big chains!) and you could help yourself to bottled water & juice from the kitchen fridge.   "The hotel was right off the interstate and visible as we drove off the exit. We stayed for UVA graduation. They shuttled to and from the graduation and even gave us their number to call if we wanted an alternate time to be picked up to come back. The van driver was super nice (I suspect he is the ma..."nager but didn't want to blow his cover). I was a little disappointed as we walked to out room. I was concerned that the room would be like the hallway. The hall smelled of room deodorizer. It was overpowering. I think you should try a new brand. Actually, I think you should get new carpet and maybe you won't need room deodorizer at all. Well, when we got to them room I was quite relieved. It was wonderful. The bathroom, which is a big deal to me, was gorgeous and obviously newly renovated. It had everything. Well, it could use a soapholder in the shower. But, hey, I'd stay there in a minute again !
