  "This was our third or fourth stay at the Dorset and each time I pronounce it to be the real deal in an old fashioned Vermont Inn. We always go in the cold season to enjoy the log burning fireplaces throughout the public areas. They add to the warmth and charm that permeates the whole place. Judging by the number of "locals" we always see in the restaurant the Dorset is a local staple, as it probably has been for its over 200 years of continuous operation. The word of caution is only that this is an old Inn and as such has inherent limitations. If well occupied the place will be noisy. Most of the rooms are small and the beds are close to the doors. You will hear people walking by your door. You will hear creaks and voices in the hall and from the next room. You will hear doors closing, and in some rooms night time traffic along the main road.
