Although we went during the last week of the ski season, it is our understanding that Sun Peaks never gets really busy like Whistler would. That's probabl..."y due to the fact that you have to travel a bit further to get there. We flew into Vancouver and took another flight to Kamloops then made the 45 min-1hr drive. I was concerned about the ski conditions because when we landed in Kamloops it rained most of the drive to Sun Peaks. But as we got higher and closer, the rain turned into snow. We had fresh snow almost every day of our trip and it was very quiet. Maybe too quiet for some but with our family of two kids (9 and 7) it was perfect for us. The Delta Residence is ski in/ski out and we had a two bedroom unit with two bathrooms, full kitchen and washer and dryer. It was perfect for our family of four. Large resort complex and the Delta is one of the key hotels. 5 story hotel in the heart of the "village" which waxs essentially created adjancent to the local ski hill on Todd Mountain. Well appointed hotel with a decent pool and gym. Fu..."ll sized rooms with mini fridge and very comfortable king sized bed. The hotel is showing it's age with lots of wear and tear on walls and carpets. Decent food in the hotel restaraunt although it's pricey ( oatmeal, fruit plate and coffee for breakfast was $18 with tip). Minor issue with the kitchen one night resulted in a complaint and the hotel manager met me the next morning to apologize....nice touch. The resort itself in May? Well like the title says, it's like a ghost town. Very limited facilities are open and most have reduced hours. I'd like to go back when it's a little more lively as I found myself whispering because it was so quiet. Would I repeat at the Delta? yes. " More >
