It's been cleaned up like new, staff is helpful and the cafe next door is still serving something better than I can cook...". What most people don't know about the area is the scenic drive north, northwest of Quemado. There's even a sign just west of town that directs you to Salt Lake. Take this ride, make sure you have a detailed map and keep going to the northwest side of Catron Co. It's bleak out there, but since you're near the outside of nowhere, check it out. " More >

The hotel room was a nice size and the furnishings were not plain Motel 6 but actually had a little style to them. The room was really clean (I mean the CREAM colored u..."pholstery club chair and ottoman were even clean.) Who furnishes a motel room with white upholstery! The carpet and bathroom tile looked new. No frig. Ice available from very friendly staff in the restaurant. Would definitely stay here again. High marks to the restaurant too. " More >

  "Out in the Middle of Nowhere"
  "We stayed at the Largo Motel and Cafe in Quemado, NM during the Memorial Day weekend. This motel was exceptionally clean. The staff was probably the friendliest I've seen in a long time. The restaurant was right there on the premises as well. It was nice to find this out in the middle of nowhere...." The only thing missing was a comfortable bed, but we are rather picky about that.
