  "Stayed a Saturday night; early check-in was permitted on our way through to Duluth from Thunder Bay. Room was clean; very quiet with no hallway noise; heat and A/c both worked; comfortable bed. Lots of parking; lighted and felt safe. Pool was clean and cool; hot-tub worked and was nice; lots of ..."towels. Didn't use the sauna, but it was hot and ready to go (no lights). Wi-Fi was very weak for both electronic items: slow load; dropped connection; picked up weakly in certain parts of the room. An easy fix with the installation of a more powerful router. Interesting pick up of a network from the adjacent cemetery -wonder who they connected to! Breakfast was a bit of disaster: good decaff but no regular coffee; after 10 minutes informed staff and fixed right away. Food was depleted: no muffins bagels or yoghurt. Both waffle machines monopolized by another guest who made 5; food scraps on floor; chairs all over; sausage and biscuits, also Danish, looked stale and had minimal replenish... " More >

  "This was my second stay at Grand Superior, and I was not disappointed. The room was upstairs, as I requested, very warm and cozy, very clean and well-stocked.   "We spent a Saturday and Sunday night at the Northern Rail. The new owner Cindy was such a pleasure to deal with! They have books, games and movies available in the common area. We would recommend this unique cozy gem to anyone and we will hopefully be booking another stay with them soon!"
