  "We recently stayed at the Green Country Inn on a lark. We were on our way to PA and were antiquing in the area. We got several good deals, and while my g/f was thanking my upon our last buy (okay, she was kissing me) a guy went by and said "get a room". We laughed and started to go. Along the way, s..."he said, why don't we get a room. So it was by accident we found the Green Dountry Inn. It's a very simple, inexpensive motel. The rooms aren't much, but they are comfortable for two, have a TV, and quiet. There is a sort community room and exercise place upstairs so you won't get cabin fever. The only things we didn't like was only having a shower, and no door on our bathroom. But we loved the bed, the restaurant (get the Big Scrambler!) and the waitress we had was efficient and funny. The room was cleap enough for our mini stay and we truly enjoyed the breakfast, the intimacy and the memories of olden days. " More >

  "Great little stopping point from a long drive"
  "It was 2:30 in the morning and we were exhausted from traveling. We pulled off the highway almost pleading for a place to rest and the local police officer who was in the convenience store at the exit directed us around 3 "twirly's" in the road to this little inn on the right side of the road. The..." office said it looked very institutional and that it did. The great part about this hotel was the 24 hour diner that was attached to it. We checked in for 59.00, grabbed some great cheesecake and milk and headed to our room. we were actually surprised at how clean it was. There was a nice TV on the wall, a very comfortable bed and this huge bathroom. In the morning as we were checking out, we did ask that the building was before it became an inn and was told it was an old YMCA. I would stay here again anytime.   "While planning a weekend trip to Fredrick County Maryland; I looked for overnight accommodations that were in a country setting and preferably locally owned. This ended up being a major challenge! I just was not able to find any establishments meeting my requirements in the area where I wanted to ..."stay. Using Trip Advisor and other search engines the only property that came close to meeting my needs was Green Country Inn in Brunswick. The inn is owned by a railroad and its main use is for train crews on mandated crew rest with half of the rooms reserved for that purpose and the remaining rooms available to the public. The rooms are small but well furnished. Based on previous comments it appears that there has been an effort made at improving the rooms. However; the lighting still needs to be improved, there was only one light which was wall mounted that was not adequate for anything except moving around the room.
