  "Arrived from work on Fri PM (around 8PM). Valet took my car, luggage....I checked in...and my jaw dropped when I saw my room! Sleigh beds! A private balcony overlooking the water (all rooms do) with really cool louvered sliders instead of curtains. I went to dinner around 9. Always feel a littl..."e uneasy dining alone, but I was made to feel perfectly at east by the staff. I had a wonderful server, Nora (ask for her!)...she actually was my server for the 4 meals I at MBH. While the weather was not 'beachy', it was moderately sunny, if cool on Sat and I sat and read on my balcony, listening to the waves lapping on shore! I took advantage of the Spa with a hotstone massage...while not the best I've ever had, it was still wonderful! I felt TOTALLY relaxed. I had a couple of glasses of wine, and went to dinner.   "I was traveling on a book tour, and my publisher arranged for me to stay here. The previous night, I'd been at a generic Hilton---I arrived in Madison with no expectations.The inn was a lovely surprise! Very homey, very welcoming, very clean. I particularly liked that my room had wooden floors-- no ..."carpeting, which always, to my sensitive nose, retains odors. Michael was very gracious, and he's a wonderful cook! I don't normally eat breakfast but could not resist the homemade yogurt and granola, and his incredible egg/spinach/feta dish.   "We only stayed at Tidewater Inn for one night but it was one of the most relaxing bed and breakfast experience we'd had. Victoria is a wonderful hostess and her attention to detail is impeccable. Upon arrival, we were treated to wine and cheese (which Victoria provides in the sitting area daily fr..."om 5-7pm). She also gave us some wonderful suggestions on how to spend our time in Madison. Breakfast was delicious (her muffins were a highlight!) We stayed in the Hammonasset Room, which was well decorated and clean. The bed was huge and extremely comfortable!
