The first did not have any motels, but exit 44 did. At first, this motel looked to be about ..."60's vintage, and part of a small compound consisting of a Chevron station and a recently closed restaurant. The office was even relegated to the gas station, but we found the owners to be extremely polite and accommodating, even inviting us to tour a room, whose large size, high ceilings and immaculate bathroom we later enjoyed. Best of all was an enormous and internationally diversified satellite TV selection and a low price. Great location just off of Calif 44 in a cluster of trees makes it look like a pleasant lush oasis in this dry valley.   "After a long drive from sacramento heading to San Diego my girlfriend and I arrived in the Bakersfiled area around noon ,were exhausted and needed a clean comfortable place to sleep for a few hours, we called nearly every hotel in Bakersfield area inquiring about early check in availability,befor..."e finding Famoso inn , no other hotel could accomadate us. Arriving at Fomosa inn we found the owers quaters and was immediately shown a room and allowed to check in at 12:15, granted there were not that many guest there on a tuesday after noon but the owner was very pleasant and accomadatiing, and we will stay here anytime we are in the area.
