Guerneville also boasts a number of gay-friendly bars and resorts. One of the staples in town for many years was the Russian River Resort (or Triple R, as it was known). Once the center of the LGBT community in Sonoma County, the Triple R eventually fell victim to poor management and reckless business practices and, in 2010, the property closed. Last year the property was purchased by a group of investors and reopened under the new name R3.
