  "We recently stayed at the Savegre Mountain Lodge. (Apr. 22-27th). Our room was great. We had a fireplace that we lit each night and our room was kept warm until morning. The outside temp. was between 8 and 12 C, but it was wonderful, but by noon it was 26!! We have been to Costa Rica 3 times now, an..."d this trip was one of the best!! I'd much rather be at the end of a dirt road, than at a resort with 100's of annoying tourists!! We originally planned to have a spa visit, but unfortunately, ran out of time. That's how busy we were. The food was great!! If tourists don't want to eat Costa Rican food, don't come to Costa Rica! Too many other vacation spots are spoiled by people who don't want to accept another culture's food and way of life. " More >

I had come the first time for a much needed rest and to practice my rusty Spanish to help with an upcoming assignment in Spain. To accommodate this Monte Azul found me a delightful teacher who came everyday to practice conversation, provide missing vocabulary etc. And that's just the way Monte is: impeccably accommodating of the individual and his or her needs.   "I stayed here on the recommendation of a friend, and I'm glad I did. I chose a private room with shared bathrooms. The room, bathrooms, and whole hotel are all very clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. I will pop in here again if my travels take me through San Isidro!"
