I happen to be one of those people that need connection to the world. It was great opening your door early in the morning and capturing some photo moments of animals drinking water or just hanging out at the perimeter of the lodge. There are no tv's in the room, you have access to a tv in the lounge area, but we had long days and never really missed not having a tv. I really believe that the staff made the stay wonderful. The rooms were sufficient, a little upgrading would never hurt. The staff cleaned the rooms everyday and they did a good job in our room.   "Staff was very friendly. Lots of cool zebras and Nayalas walking around. Not luxurious but nice. Glad we had a car to venture out on our own. Met nice people. 4 out of the big 5 on the safaris on the reserve. I would also recommend the neighboring safari phinda."

  "My friend and I won this through the golf auction, which is how everyone finds this place. We stayed in the game lodge for four nights and the heritage (tents) for the last two. Staff at Game lodge and food was amazing, you can eat everything and not worry about getting sick. The heritage lacked ..."in the food aspect (barely any options for lunch and dinner other than salad and meat), but the grounds were very well kept and much larger than the game lodge. If this is your first trip to Africa, or if you are going with children, I would highly recommend this place. We had a minor ant issue in our room, but nothing that some bug spray did not kill. Sipho was our guide and he was great, very informative and really took his time on the safari rides to try to find the elusive leopart. I would highly recommend taking some excursion. There are no lions on these grounds, however Phinda offers a full or half day trip on their grounds and we were able to see eight lions, as well as many othe... " More >
