  "I first stayed here in 2009 and I loved it then. I love it more now. Laurent, the owner, has been obviously been taking loving care of this place. He's a very hard working guy and it shows in the quality of workmanship he put into building this entire building and complex. And it shows in the upkeep..." and maintenance. It must be a ton of work to simply maintain a place in the middle of a tropical rainforest overlooking the ocean! The building is extremely well designed to create lots of air circulation and really open it up to the expansive ocean view and surrounding jungle. So much so that the top floors feel like tree house units only with luxury and comfort. And the design and construction throughout is high quality and great design. I love great architecture and modern design and Laurent has done very well here while keeping it warm and comfortable with wood and simple fabrics and elegant finishings on the many sliding doors and high windows.   "Now we are not talking about 4 season in NYC. Please keep in mind this review is for Costa Rica. The location is near Manuel Antonio which offers more night life. If you are looking for a quieter evening (say for a family), you may want to stay away from Manuel Antonio. Kayak Lodge's appearance ..."is deceiving but for its value, the service, the room, and the safety, it can't be beaten!! We chose Kayak Lodge because they ARE the kayak excursion people located next to the river for our kayak activities. The manager gave us his personal cell phone, so we could contact him for "anything!" We did have to contact him for some information and he promptly picked up the phone at 10:30pm. Wow!! Their breakfast which was included in the price of the room, was excellent. They offered to keep our luggage for the day while we were at the Manuel Antonio beach. After we finished our Kayak tour, they offer us to use their pool and shower for "free" even though we had checked out earlier. Th... " More >
