In reality, al..."l things considered El Portal de Semuc is a great place to stay. Positive: Location, Location, Location. The food is really good. Service is usually good too. Negative: You have to watch/protect your bags. There is no Guatemalan food on the menu except for a breakfast dish. I told them about it but they say no one would buy it. I disagree; by all means have your tourist food available but give customers the option of trying a few Guatemalan dishes as well. I bet anybody would really like: Carnitas, Hilachas, Pepian, Subanik, etc. No Horchata either....too bad!
