My teenager wasn't too keen on it, but all we had to do was sleep there.... It was a pretty old place and I know that there were stairs to get in and stairs to get to the elevator (because I was so annoyed with trying to get my ROLLING cooler to my room--- while the front desk person just chuckled at my sorry attempt!).   "I needed to find a hotel in Arlington on the Metro and close to a meeting location for quick overnight trip from FL to VA. I had to book travel and lodging on the same day and was not able to research the hotels like I normally would. I prefer Hilton chains and even though over per diem, I selected ..."the Arlington Courthouse Plaza. I arrived after 6P and at check-in the staff at front desk was very pleasant and engaging. Usually, if there are two agents at the front desk and only one customer, the second agent does not bother to help or even speak. Not so at the HGI ACP. The room was comfortable and clean. My only complaint was the thermostat (and this has been mentioned previously). Unfortunately, I would not know this until the middle of the night when I was a tad bit warmer than I expected to be.   "This hotel is conveniently located, close to the subway. When you get a good deal (weekends?) then the rooms have a decent price compared to what they offer. Rooms are clean. Had no problems with noise from other rooms (contrary to other reviewers). Complimentary coffee in the room is nice. Restaura..."nt in the hotel is overpriced, but food is fresh and of good quality. Main drawback of my stay was the taxi that the hotel arranged for me to get to Dulles Airport. Costs: 60$ + tip for a 15-20 min. trip, while the lady behind the reception assured me that it would take about 45 minutes. That is not service, that's taking advantage of (foreign) visitors.
