  "When we first walked into The Earth Villa, we were greeted by a younger man sitting shirtless behind the reception desk. Introducing himself as a member of the family that founded, operates, and lives in the hotel, he apologized for his "unconventional" uniform. "We're not exactly a traditional hote..."l," he said. "But we're sure we can meet your needs." We're probably not the most fickle of travelers — and vacationers looking for fastidious service might want to look elsewhere — but Earth Villa most certainly went well beyond meeting our needs. For us, it came down to three things: the premises, the price, and the people. The hotel itself is beautiful — large and well-appointed rooms, comfortable lobby, beautiful pool — and its location, situated right between the Hoi An old town and the beach, couldn't be better. We stayed in 3/3.5 star hotels throughout ou..."r holiday and this hotel was, by far, the most generous in size of the hotel itself as well as the rooms, so it's easy to relax after a busy day or late night. The hotel is close to the city, just a 5 minute pedal(the hotel has free bikes for guests) on a virtually flat road. Just turn right out the gate and follow your nose - The Restaurant & Bar on the top floor has a great 360 degree view. Beer was only about $1 per (600ml) bottle, from memory. My son and I stayed in a Superior Rice Field room which had two double beds, unlike the single beds in the other hotels we used, was very spacious and had a small balcony. We had interconnecting beachfront suites which were away from from main building in individual cottages with fantastic beach views. The rooms were very thoughtfully laid out with any kind of information or amenity we were looking for exactly where we first looked for it - one of the most intuitive and thoughtful rooms I have ever stayed in. The bed was good, and the bathroom was huge and well lit. The only inconvenience was that the WC was separate from the bath and so we had to walk through the room, and around the bed to wash our hands.
