  "We stayed at the Melanesian for a week after being offered a free flight by Virgin Australia for an earlier problem. Vanuatu because we had never been and the Melanesian because it's reviews on Tripadvisor seemed pretty fair. We booked a Hibiscus Room and paid just under $100 Australian a night, ..."we thought this rather expensive but didn't realise that Vanuatu is not a cheap place to visit. The welcome was friendly and were told from the outset that any complaints should be reported to reception, we thought that a positive and professional attitude. The room was bright and comfortable with a well provided kitchenette, spacious balcony and bathroom. Hibiscus rooms do not have air conditioning, but the fan was more than adequate. I cannot comment whether it would be in the summer! Breakfast was of a buffet continental type, but was plentiful with fresh fruit, cereal, toast and eggs.   "Villa 25: peaceful, relaxing and quiet luxury."
  "My husband and I have just spent a week in Vanuatu at Villa 25. We wanted a very quiet holiday to rejuvenate the batteries and help to build health after illness, and this was the ideal place. It is a small property, only 3 villa's built close together, but ours felt private. We were in villa #3 ..."and it is closest to the sea and has excellent sea views. The villa's are very nicely built and decorated, and are very comfortable and spacious. You have sea views and the pool is 10 steps from your private patio. They have wooden slat louvres throughout that are typical island style. but there are no insect screens. Electric plug in mosquito devices are available - we brought our own too just in case, and although there aren't many mozzies there are some every day. Aussie plugs and electricity throughout the islands. Villa 25 service is good and comes with smiles - you get a daily clean up and bed remake- and Kris the onsite manager checks in to see how you are going from time... " More >

  "We have stayed in Holiday Inns in the past,they have always been quite good,but for some reason they have never become a destination of choice. That may have to change after spending a week at the Holiday Inn, Port Vila. We would really be nit picking to find anything to whinge about. The place has ..."undergone a makeover recently,if you want to look hard you'll find evidence,but why bother ? The rooms were quite nice, but not really a factor for us since we only slept and showered there. The grounds,pools and beach are kept immaculately and the setting on the lagoon is beautiful. Without doubt the highlight of this place though is the staff,we loved their friendly,laconic style, they almost force you to relax.And smiling must be in their employment contract, it is something they do really well. From the bar and restaurant staff, to the room service crew and the boys down on the beach, they just could not possibly be any friendlier and more helpful. Even the cabbies out the front are wond...
