The food was also some of the best food we have ever eaten, from brekfast to the wedding meal everything was delicious and this coming from a couple who work in hotels & who are very hard to please.   "What a great place, a lovely warm welcome, great room, lovely pool, great food and the staff were so friendly. We had a room in the new wing a bit of a trek but worth it. The bed was just so sleep inducing what a great sleep, we woke to birds chirping and nothing else. The view over the lough are..." great and inspiring. You cant help but get your boots and go for a long walk on the beach and then stretch out with tea on a nice sofa beside the fire. our only 2 quibbles was the service charge I like to tip good service but not average service. I booked it and my husband paid for it so he didn't say anything on checkout. the service charge was on the confirmation email but when you see it on the bill its a bit of a turnoff. The food in the Elm Tree restaurant was exceptional but the quantity of veg and potatoes was tiny I asked for more and we received it however we could still have done with more.
