  "I was at a wonderful concert on Friday last in the Bantry Bay Hotel. The venue was absolutely beautiful. Candles around the oak panelled wall, with the musicians at top of the room surrounded by antique boats and ship lanterns. A wonderful night of Irish music, sad ballads and hilarious stories a..."nd songs. I returned the next day for lunch in the bar. The choice on the menu suited everyone tastes and my partner and I had a lovely lunch. I'm vegetarian and enjoyed the hearty vegetable soup and home made brown bread. I loved the bread so much I took away a loaf back to Dublin! Its not a cliche but the staff were genuinely friendly and attentive and that makes such an impression. Another impression is the attention to detail and cleanliness of every area of the hotel. The room, ensuite, was large, comfortable, and perfect for us. The breakfasts were wonderful, I recommend to salmon, and Barry and Josephine's hints ..."about Bantry Bay were right on.
