  "Booked this as a room for 4 and set off with 4 adults for a ski weekend. Expected it to be a bit out of town. In the event it's really central. About 330 meters from the Font Romeu gondola. :-) On arrival (c 7 pm) there was no reception open just a phone number on the door ;-(. Rang that and wa..."s directed to our room. Room modern and tastefully decorated with spectacular views across the mountains :-) Expected 4 beds for 4 adults - bunks maybe. The reality was a double bed and a sofa bed with two mattresses :-( Ideal for Mum Dad and two kids, not so great for four adults. Therefore two heterosexual men sharing a bed ;-) and the mattresses spread out on the floor to make sleeping set up. Lots of nice clean bedding and warm blankets. Room also very warm :-) Provided you know what the sleeping arrangements are, don;t want to see any staff (assume they will be taking the balance off my card????) and happy that there is no bar or catering then it's perfect.   "We had reason to stay a night in Font-Romeu recently and booked this hotel on the strength of previous reviews and on the whole were happy we did. The rooms were fairly basic but clean and the beds comfortable. The rooms were well heated (very well!) and we had a small balcony with table and chai..."rs overlooking the main street. The bathrooms again are fine, basic but everything worked. One small bug was the fact that the shower could only be hand held with no shower curtain, so sitting in the bath was the only option without flooding the floor. Free Wifi was also available which is always welcome. The location is excellent, close to the main ski lift and all the local shops etc. Parking was offered at €8 a day, but the free covered council car park was only a short walk away so we opted for that instead. Another bug bear was that breakfast was not included in the room rate, an extra €10 per person and the room rate was not what I would consider cheap... However a local cafe did... " More >
