  "The view is spectacular, we had a room on bottom floor w 2 beds, nice layout, very clean . Although next to highway 1 rooms are quiet with shades to block lighting from parking lot. Walking path very convenient, a bit of a hill to ocean but a fun hike."

There are quite a few Hotels in Shanklin with balcony rooms but they..." seem to be larger, less intimate Hotels. The Carlton is not small, but it's not so big as to become impersonal. I stayed in a double room the first 3 nights and then moved to one of the Balcony rooms for the next 3 nights. Both rooms were very clean and tidy with spacious bathrooms and comfy beds. The garden is superb and well looked after. The tea deck area really adds the finishing touches to the exterior, you could take in the views all day. Anne and Bob, the owners are helpful and very nice people, the waitress, Marylin who served us at breakfast was very nice too, everyone was looked after well.   "Lovely hotel excellent service from staff. Good location overlooking Sandown Bay. We will definitely visit again soon! Breakfast was good, you need to be active due to hilly location. We will recommend this hotel to all."
