The hotel was very nicely decorated and spotlessly clean though our ‘superior’ room was very tired with a terrible shower, the beds though were incredibly comfortable, lovely bedding and fantastic pillows – we take our own everywhere and it is the first hotel we’ve stayed in where we didn’t need them. I dread to think what a standard room is like. My sister and family were given a deluxe room in the ‘Diana’ part; this room was beautiful, with a fantastic bathroom and a balcony with views – the view out of our ‘superio... " More >

  "Myself and a friend took our two sons (16 and 13) to The Montane earlier this year. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, organising ski passes and equipment for the boys and even a lesson for the younger boy (who hadn't skied before and loved it - he's begging to go back next season!). For mys..."elf and my friend (non skiers), there was no lack of fun to be had. We were shown around Arinsal and beyond by Fiona the owner/manager in her car and really felt part of The Montane family. Our rooms at the back of the hotel were spotlessly clean and comfortable (not sure why the negative remarks about hard beds - we all slept like babies!). The Montane is great value for money, but what really stood out was the food which was superb, varied and memorable (full marks to the Chef!). Ditto with the wine - chosen by Fiona and first rate!
