  "We booked this package for two main reasons, cost and quality and we felt that the Malpas ticked both boxes. Desirable also was to have the potential for good weather, the opportunity to rest but have the opportunity to explore and visit sites of historical significance, again all boxes were ticked...." On our arrival N Cyprus had been experiencing some very wild weather but from day one we saw nothing but cloudless blue skies with temperatures hovering between 31c - 35c. The hotel was very clean which included Diamond Court where we were situated, which suited us very well. The staff was helpful and friendly and was a credit to the hotel. The buffet style service suited us and the quality was good and varied. The North was generally beautiful and we saw many historical sites, including Salamis which we visited during a reasonably priced organised coach trip. Car hire was reasonable, £20 a day for a brand new Ford Fiesta with petrol 35p a litre cheaper than the UK!! The negative aspect... " More >

  "Bit of a let- down from last time"
  "We stayed here for 3 nights for the wife's birthday treat, we were looking forward to it as well after the last time we stayed there. When we arrived there was no mention on booking of the construction work going on there, a bit naughty really, they gave us a room in the annex that was not good, so..." we changed it, and reception told us all the British people had been put in the annex because of the building work and noise of JCB digger etc,, wonder if they had been told when they booked that reconstruction work was going on?? Food was awful, 14 choices of everything you don't want to eat, it is the same in every hotel in North Cyprus, they try to be fancy and it doesn't work, diced peppers in scrambled eggs, sautéed veg turns out to be fried courgette , you get the drift, there was 'wedding soup', cornflour and water with frozen peas and no taste. It is now not 5 star as the casino has closed and they are digging it up and modifying it to be something else. when we were there 2 year... " More >
